Jumeirah Islands is a Nakheel community of roughly 740 large detached villas set on man-made islands threaded with lakes and waterways, next to Jumeirah Park and JLT. The defining feature for AC care is right there in the name: water everywhere. With canals and lakes running between the plots, local humidity is noticeably higher than in a dry inland community, so the coils and condensate trays in these villas sit in a damper environment and are more prone to a musty start-up smell and a damp tray than their equivalents in, say, Arabian Ranches. The homes themselves are big, mostly four and five-bedroom detached villas in themed clusters such as the Mediterranean, European and Islamic styles, running multi-zone ducted DX systems with long supply runs, and because the community dates from the mid-2000s a lot of that ducting is now original and overdue a clean. Put the two together, long dust-loaded runs plus a humid, lake-fed setting, and the common booking here is a coil-and-duct clean with a sanitising fogging treatment rather than a dry dust-out.
