Jumeirah Lake Towers, JLT, is a grid of high-rise towers arranged in lettered clusters around four man-made lakes, right across Sheikh Zayed Road from Dubai Marina, and it is one of the few areas where Google autocomplete carries the phrase "ac duct and vents cleaning in JLT" directly. Like the Marina, JLT runs almost entirely on Empower district cooling, so the AC inside each apartment and office is a chilled-water fan coil fed from a district plant, not a condenser. That is the thing worth knowing before you book: there is no outdoor unit to service, but the fan coil, its filter, drain tray and the duct spurs behind your ceiling grilles are the occupier’s responsibility, and they are what dust and dampen. JLT adds two local twists on top. First, the lakes raise humidity around the lower floors, so coils here are especially prone to a damp tray and the musty start-up smell that comes with it.
