Just Moved In? What to Do With Your AC First

By Noor Duct Cleaning Team 4 min readUpdated 12 Jul 2026

When you move into a new apartment or villa, the AC has usually been running for the previous tenant for years. Whatever dust and smells built up are now yours. A quick check before you fully settle in is one of the smartest, cheapest things you can do.

Why the AC deserves attention at move-in

  • You inherit the previous occupant’s dust, filters and any odours
  • You have no record of when — or if — the AC was ever serviced
  • Fit-out or handover work often leaves fine construction dust in the ducts
  • A clean baseline makes future problems easier to spot

What a move-in air check involves

We inspect the AC and ducts with a DuctCam, check airflow and filters, and document the condition with photos and a report. If it needs a clean, you will see exactly why; if it does not, we tell you honestly and you have saved money with a clear baseline.

It protects tenants and landlords

A documented move-in report is useful for both sides. Tenants get proof of the starting condition; landlords get a record that the unit was handed over in good order. It is especially handy in high-turnover areas like Al Nahda, Al Nuaimiya and University City.

The honest next step

Before you unpack fully, message us your building and unit. We will arrange a quick move-in air check and give you a clean, documented starting point.
